Norwegian Military Tattoo from 1994 - 2010

In 1994, the first Norwegian Military Tattoo in the Viking Ship at Hamar. In cooperation with the Hamar Municipality and Wind Festival in Hamar the former music supervisor in the Armed Forces, Christer Johannesen, to create a Norwegian version of the Military Tattoo around the world. As long-time music supervisor Johannesen had built up a solid network of contacts among the world's leading corps and departments, which were crucial for their participation.

It was early made a collaboration with the Swedish farm "," Army Musikkår ", a deal that still makes the HM King's Guard always pops up on the Swedish Army Tattoo Musikkår on the Norwegian. The farm has since been an attraction for the Norwegian Military Tattoo every year.

In 1995 music inspector Johannesen one phone to the then Chief of the Defence Forces General Arne Solli and Defense Minister Jorgen Kosmo, who were traveling together, if he had full support from the military to arrange Norwegian Military Tattoo in Oslo Spektrum. This was the start of a close and good cooperation between the management of the Norwegian Military Tattoo and the leaders of the Defense Forces.
